As we count down to Christmas this year, we want to celebrate those who have made a big social impact this year.
The first shout-out goes to The Domino Foundation.
When cyclone Idai hit Mozambique’s Beira area in March 2019, the Disaster Relief Unit of this Durban-based NPO was one of the first on the ground.
They were part of the teams providing priority emergency assistance to 47 000 people, including food, water, emergency shelter, sanitation and hygiene support. Over 518 tonnes of relief aid were distributed, with each family receiving enough provisions to last 15 days.
