It was an insightful and inspiring time as Nation Builder hosted over 70 Corporates and NPOs online on the 16th of April 2020, to discuss the COVID-19 response as a community.Â
This preliminary session really highlighted the importance of collaboration. Everyone could give their inputs and tell of their experiences and these insights were shared across the entire community. There was great excitement around the opportunities that this could bring us, as a collective.
You can download a summary of the survey that was distributed after the event and discussions from the various breakaway rooms below:
Outcomes:
Our team used this data to create opportunities for further meaningful collaboration and identified ways in which we could effectively mobilise the Nation Builder Community.Â
As a result, we hosted another combined Corporate and NPO Collab on Friday, 8 May 2020. Mpho Mngxitama, the Acting Chief Director for Registration and Compliance of NPOs from The Department of Social Development, addressed participants and gave some insights into DSD activities. Then, Shaun Tait, CEO of the Domino Foundation shared on the necessity to move into the recovery phase of disaster management as quickly as possible.
We also put together a COVID-19 Resource Directory which you can access below:
If you have any resources that you would like us to add, please email [email protected] or add information and links via the online community.
There are now five new chat groups in the online community on the Nation Builder website. Each group relates to one of the five most popular COVID-19 topics – Food Security , Education, Technology, Fundraising and the Recovery Phase of Disaster Management.
